PEC was founded in 1987 as an industrial training company and became incorporated in 1990 as it was enhanced with talents in the field of system integration. PEC envisioned a service that gives people and organizations the tools needed to survive and progress in an increasingly high-tech world. We call this service invisible technology. We strongly believe intuitive technology should be applied to practices and projects without the complications typically associated with it. It should be rendered invisible to the user. Since then, PEC has participated in a host of projects that have brought this idea to life. From virtual Language and Culture training programs to telemedicine PEC has brought their idea to fruition.
Language and Culture Virtual School
PECs goal is to improve contemporary training practices. The objective is to cultivate high technology and virtual training alternatives that are intuitive and easy to use. Our expertise empowers our clients to use efficient collaborative technology to excel in their training and education environments. We have leveraged internet technologies and used our integration skills to create alternative frameworks for collaborative environments. Not only will we host online virtual training networks, we’ll build them. These online, or virtual, collaborative environments can aid any type of distance training if the right technology is employed and because we charge ourselves with staying up to date on the latest integration technologies, we are equipped to provide training alternatives to a variety of government and commercial clients nationwide.
PEC’s Language and Culture Virtual School system can be leveraged by any business or government entity that requires language and culture training. The virtual school system provides everything that you would expect from a typical school with the benefit that you can go to school from home or at the office. The platform consists of necessary features for class – whiteboard (which is a virtual blackboard) web-browser sharing, document sharing, chat windows, audio/video, instant messaging, and we offer a Collaborative Learning Environment, or CLE. This is the virtual stomping grounds for students and instructors to register for classes, participate in discussion forums and post homework, announcements and other class materials.
PEC has been running the Virtual School since 2002 and hosts a fully functional language and culture training center that is currently in use by United States Special Operation Forces Command and other government and business clients. This kind of language training can be implemented anywhere – in large classroom environments, or individual homes, to young children, college students, corporate businesses or the military throughout the world. It is an alternative that saves money and time and no one has to travel for special courses.
PEC’s passion is to improve the education and training environments by leveraging information and internet technology to create solutions that are easy to use and intuitive – we want the virtual technology to disappear from the user’s conscious mind and become a natural medium for communication. The interconnected world is getting smaller and bigger all at once and we recognize that technology can help humans adapt by providing learning environments that can be accessed anywhere, anytime.
