Special Operations Forces Tele-training System provides live, online virtual language training school to United States Special Operation Forces Command soldiers and personnel. SOCOM soldiers are required and encouraged to learn and retain foreign languages in order ot be more effective in the field. PEC helps by providing the SOFTS platform to SOCOM which enables soldiers to participate in classes from around the world.
Students and teachers can participate in SOFTS regardless of their geographic location as long as the individual has access to broadband internet. Students have 'attended' even when in transit on TDY / TAD / PCS. SOFTS enables today’s mobile military personnel to train in remote sites where finding an instructor is nearly impossible and enables assembling a class of students with like needs rapidly since we no longer have to limit the search to a single site. SOFTS offers both acquisition and sustainment classes to students and facilitates ready integration of training software for homework and other exercises.
We have been working closely with Special Operations Command to develop the SOFTS program and it has grown into a fully-fledged school. Across over 25 different countries, the SOFTS program has helped over 1500 students learn over 25 different languages. Students can come together in the virtual school environment to learn language and culture that will target their skills for deployment assignments.
