In 2002, PEC built a fiber optic network at the New York State Fairgrounds. It is one of only four fairgrounds in the United States that offers an Internet connection. With separate networks for the administrative offices and the exhibitor visitor areas, PEC addresses security concerns while providing wired and wireless Internet services. Many business and government customers have found Internet @ the Fair useful for sales, presentations, website showcasing, online auctions, communication with home office and surfing.


WiFi Internet Access Wireless Internet is now available in outdoor and indoor locations at the New York State Fairgrounds! All you need is a PC and a standard 802.11b/g wireless card, and you can access the Internet while you are on the Fairgrounds. Don’t miss important e-mail! Chat with friends! Faster-than-Broadband WiFi @ The Fair connects you to the Internet at speeds that are faster than a typical broadband connection at home. Our wireless infrastructure is built on a robust and reliable fiber-optic backbone. This allows us to provide network speeds that far exceed normal DSL or Cable Modem connections. Get Online Easily From any “Wifi at The Fair” Hotspot, open a web browser on any WiFi enabled device and you’re in. This opens up the automatic sign-up screen.
